Nos.5 and 6 (Francis House) are former Victorian town houses, built circa 1840. Before the redevelopment of the Humber Dock as Hull Marina, both houses were used as premises of fruit merchants. Having been refurbished, today they are utilised for business (ground floor) and residential accommodation (upper floors). Note the cast iron balconies on the first floor of No.6. See figs. 242 and 278-279 in 'Georgian Hull' by Ivan & Elisabeth Hall, 1978/9. Public Right of Way No.23 extends 400 metres between Minerva Pier and Castle Street, following the eastern side of Minerva Terrace, Humber Place and Humber Dock Street.
