View towards Halifax. In the past the focal feature of the parkland was the raised ornamental pond and fountain (centre left). Today sailing boats and paddling are no longer an option since turf and shrubs occupy the clover leaf shaped water feature. Appropriately the spire of All Souls' is visible through the trees - the Akroyd family being responsible for both the building of the church and the development of the park.
