Opened in 1850 by the Caledonian and Dunbartonshire Junction Railway in its line from Bowling (on the Clyde) to Balloch Pier (on Loch Lomond). View south towards Renton and Glasgow. There was previously a second platform to the right, some remains of which could still be seen (behind the photographer) when this image was taken.
