From the house on the extreme left, The BBC broadcast local programmes between 15 August 1924 and 31 October 1928, via a transmitter in Wincolmlee. Thereafter, broadcasts continued as a relay from Manchester until 1931. A commemorative plaque is displayed on the wall between the second and third windows. Image
