The pub name describes a nautical rather than an aerial pilot since the River Thames (or the mud flats thereof) is only a few hundred yards away. This pub was intended to be part of an holiday resort to rival Southend-on-Sea just across the water. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allhallows,_Kent But it never came off.
