The North London Railway opened its line from Dalston Junction to Broad Street on 1st November 1865. This gave direct access to the City of London. The last train ran on 30th June 1986. Most of the line was eventually taken over for the northwards extension of the East London Line for London Overground. Haggerston station was officially opened to the public on 27th April 2010.
