Looking eastwards along the Ashton Canal towards the Stadium Bridge which carries Joe Mercer Way across the canal towards the City of Manchester Stadium (built for the 2002 Commonwealth Games but now renamed "Etihad Stadium" for sponsorship purposes). The stadium is behind the trees to the right hand side.
