Opened by the London Chatham and Dover Railway on the line from London Victoria to Faversham, this station closed in 2015 when it was replaced by a new station some 500m north west, behind the camera position View south east towards Chatham and Faversham. At one time, Rochester and Strood had five railway stations between them on two competing lines.
