The parhelion is the bright patch of sky on the extreme left hand side of the image. The setting sun is at the right hand side of the image and the effect of the parhelion was accentuated by the fact the sun was obscured by clouds. There was a similar parhelion on the opposite side of the sun. The road is the A4018 into bristol from the M5 at junction 17.
