Christ Church School, between Fournier and Fashion Streets, was erected here, a plaque says, together with the adjoining schoolmaster's house, in 1873 to replace the former schools and house that stood in the NW angle of the churchyard of Christ Church which stands directly to the east on Commercial St. A drinking fountain set in the railings on the pavement can be seen here in front of the school.
