Modern bandstand installed in 2000 in the landscaped gardens at Newark Castle by Victorian landscape gardener H.E.Milner, his original designs included a bandstand but it was never built. The gardens officially opened on 24th May 1889, Queen Victoria's 70th birthday. The Gilstrap Library and Ossington Coffee Palace are in the background.
