Tye View, Telscombe Cliffs

Residential road that runs between Telscombe Cliffs Way and Warren Way and was built in the late 1960s/early 1970s on the site of Warren Farm and in particular a field that lay to the immediate south of the old farmhouse called House Meadow according to Telscombe's 1842 tithe map. The old farm was built in the 18th century and farmed lands in a strip that ran from what is now Telscombe Road in the north to the sea in the south, then from the parish boundary with what was then Piddinghoe in the east to Telscombe Tye in the west. Much of that land was acquired by the Cavendish Land Company toward the end of the 19th century who subsequently laid out the roads which became the settlement of Telscombe Cliffs. However, the fields to the west still remain agricultural fields and are farmed from Kirby Farm.
