The footpath from the Onslow Arboretum crosses the A3 at this point though I can't imagine there are too many souls brave enough to attempt the crossing. On the far side are the Philip Henman sports centre and the Surrey Science Park. On a historical note this is very close to the point where Mike Hawthorn, the racing driver, was killed on 22 January 1959 when his Jaguar left the A3 at high speed and impacted a tree. There is a memorial tree to him in the arboretum.
