A weir on the River Sirhowy

This is just before the river passes under a bridge carrying the A465 Heads of the Valleys road which is casting its shadow across the weir. The weir was constructed in 1796 in order to supply water via a leat to the Sirhowy Ironworks http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2943096 . This viewpoint was often used for a picture of the Nine Arches Viaduct which is now obscured by the trees http://www.tredegar.co.uk/gallery/gallery.asp?categoryid=61 .
