The Five Pits Trail is a 5.5 mile track loosely following the course of the defunct Great Central railway which linked the collieries of Grassmoor, Williamsthorpe, Holmeswood, Pilsley and Tibshelf. The trail is pictured here at a footpath junction between Alma Farm and Lings Farm.
