A Mongolian style ger on the camping ground at the Basingstoke Canal visitor centre. Often confused with a yurt which is the Turkic version of a portable tent. The construction of the two are different with the Yurt having curved roof supports while the ger has a flat roof. Traditional gers are covered in felt made from wool.
