IN VNDYING MEMORY OF THE MEN AND WOMEN OF BOLTON WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1919 The dates 1914 - 1919 are repeated to the left of the central plaque whilst the dates 1939 - 1945 have been added below and to the right. A further plaque in the paving reads: PLEASE SHOW RESPECT FOR THE CENOTAPH DO NOT DEFACE OR CLIMB ON IT
