The corner shop seen here has been reconfigured to serve as the entrance/exit and gift shop for D.H. Lawrence's Birthplace Museum, whereas D. Herbert Lawrence ("Bertie") was actually born in the house nearest to the photographer (11 Sept 1885). Beyond the converted corner shop premises is a former Wesleyan Chapel, now providing a number of apartments.
