The demolition in late August/early September 2012 of the long shed at Beltonford Maltings removes the last industrial building associated with Beltonford Paper Works (operational from 1865 to 1892, when a major fire brought paper manufacturing to an end). The Ordnance Survey 25" map of 1894 (Haddingtonshire Sheet 006.12) clearly shows the extent of the by-now disused paper works complex. A photograph taken in May 2010 Image shows the extent of this minor building prior to demolition.
