Yn 1917, er mawr siom i'w ffrindiau, fe briododd seicdreidydd y Dr Ernest Jones o Dregwyr ac aethant i fyw yn Llundain. Yn drychinebus, ar 7ed Medi 1918 tra'n aros yn 'Craig y Môr, cartref ei thâd yn nghyfraith yn Thistleboon, Y Mwmbwls bu farw Morfydd o lid y pendics a hithau ond yn 26 oed. Born in Trefforest, near Pontypridd in 1891 into a musical family Morfydd went on to become a beautiful and talented composer and mezzo soprano. Amongst her best known compositions are 'To our Lady of Sorrows' ', Slumber Song of the Madonna', and 'Gweddi'r Pechadur'. In 1917, to the dismay of many, she married psychoanalyst Dr Ernest Jones of Gowerton, and they settled in London. Tragically, on 7 September 1918, while staying at Craig y Môr, her father-in-law's house, in Thistleboon, Mumbles, Morfydd died of an appendicitis abscess at the young age of 26. Her gravestone has the following German inscription 'Das Unbeschreibliche, Hier ist's getan' (The indescribable, here is done).
