The original 1845 mill building forms the main block in the centre. The projecting block to the right is a later 19th century extension. The later engine house with its range of 5 round headed windows projects to the left of the mill. The area to the right of the picture was occupied by a doubling mill, now demolished. The immediate foreground was originally occupied by lodges/reservoirs which would have become redundant when the steam engines were replaced with electricity.
