The view was taken just a couple of days before the start of the Olympic Games, with no thought that it would shortly become one of the special Olympic gold postboxes, in hour of cyclist Jason Kenny. The box is an oval double box (EIIR Royal Mail), and beyond it is the Bolton B.O Business Box | 124 Deansgate (ref. BL1 9000), a typical main Post Office set-up. Also visible is the group of four K6 telephone kiosks; this group is Listed Grade II.
