The top plaque commemorates the visit by the Queen and Prince Philip on the 700th anniversary of the grant of the first charter to Windsor by King Edward I. The lower plaque celebrates the Grand National Jubilee on October 25 1809 where The Bachelors of Windsor gratefully record the condescension of Queen Charlotte to witness the roasting of an Ox. Plum pudding was also provided by The Bachelors.
