The pediment over the central ground floor window has an inscribed stone dated 1649. According to the English Heritage listing, the house was originally two cottages, although it appears to have undergone extensive rebuilding at a relatively early date. The stone over the entrance gate has the date 1662, although the wall and gate are clearly modern. Listed Grade II.
