There used to be a bridge allowing passengers to both enter from either side of the line, and far more importantly pedestrians to cross while the crossing was shut. Now they all have to wait and frequently have to wait for three trains to pass before the gates rise. Another of too many examples of things deteriorating over time. The new flats here are hardly conducive to civilised living, with barely any space between buildings and the windows all being covered on the ground floors. This is a typical example of the worst type of British speculative building, mopping up every single foot of available land regardless of how suitable it is for building.
