Having the reputation for being one of the most haunted churches in Essex, perhaps it's time to invite Derek Acorah back to see what he can pick up. This beautiful church atop Beacon Hill was built in the 14th century and is surrounded by some of the most attractive Essex countryside around. Many visitors claim to have seen orbs in the church porch; there is also the ghost of a woman and cries of a baby. I took several pictures of the church that day and was there for about half an hour during which I kept hearing incessant tapping coming from inside the church which stopped whenever I went closer. At the time I thought nothing of it, but I have since read on message boards that other people have heard the tapping as well. http://www.bbc.co.uk/insideout/east/series5/ghost_hunters.shtml
