"The Old Parsonage", as seen from Quaker Way, an adjacent flyover. The property is now used by a firm of solicitors. Built in mid-17th century, this house was occupied by Robert Porter in 1666 and meetings of the newly formed Unitarian community began here prior to a Meeting House being built. This group of worshippers was formed by a group of Anglican clergy in 1662 following "The Great Ejection" in 1661. The first "Old Meeting House" (as opposed to this temporary gathering place) was built behind this property in 1702 and enlarged in 1870 (financed by a local mill owner - William Hollins - former owner of Pleasley Vale Mills). This Meeting House is the oldest non-conformist place of worship in Nottinghamshire.
