Leysters Farm is some distance from the current centre of the village, which is widely scattered. The land here is high with heavy clay soils. It is a traditional sheep rearing area, once prosperous through the wool trade. Turnips are grown as winter fodder for sheep. There are other fields waiting once they have finished this one.
