Signal Tower Museum, Arbroath

The Signal Tower was built in 1813 as the shore station for the Bell Rock lighthouse, 11.5 miles out to sea. As well as maintaining communications with the lighthouse keepers it also provided accommodation for their families. The station closed in 1955 and for a while the buildings were used as local authority housing, but now house a local museum with exhibits telling the story of the Bell Rock lighthouse.
