The combination of blue, white and orange seems to suit the cast-ironwork rather well. The station dates from 1885, so it would be interesting to know how things were painted in Victorian times. From 1923 until about 1970 the colour scheme would have been buff and green - the colours of the Southern Railway, and of BR Southern Region which succeeded it.
