This is the site of where the Brereton Colliery Company railway crossed Colliery Road. It was here where a level crossing was situated and on the far side of the road close to the kerb (in line with the road name sign) you can see where the tarmac has worn away revealing one of the original rail's. The gate in the foreground would have been the location of one of the crossing barriers. You can still follow the route of the rail line, which is now a footpath through the back of Brereton and towards Rugeley Whalf.
