Between the outer suburbs and countryside proper is a zone best described as the Horse Belt. It looks pretty much like this. Neither really residential nor proper farmland, but with a lot of sheds and fences and an unusually high equine population. This section of The London Loop path goes through several miles that look fairly similar.
