A view taken from the pedestrian entrance that leads into this part of the Jason Spencer Sports Ground from Valley Road. This recreation ground is situated between Day Brook (a stream) and the A6514, an arterial road that runs near to City Hospital. The internal footpath leads to the park’s vehicular exit on Edwards Lane. The new all-weather basketball court and all-weather keep-fit equipment can be seen and further along this narrow strip of leisure space that is parallel with the A6514 are a series of long-established tennis courts together with some newly laid out petanque pistes. Behind the photographer is a new skateboard park, plus a long rectangular stretch of freely accessible grassland behind that. This ground was named in memory of teenager of Tithby Road, Sherwood who was stabbed to death by a 17 year old boy during a fight in 2007 over a torn jacket belonging to a second young man, who is now in prison.
