The area on the left of this elongation of Clare Valley was not built upon until after 1914. Now modern detached houses ('named rather than numbered') have gradually taken over this stretch of green space. Behind the railings and beyond the shrubs is "The Bowl", a residual green space that provides the space for the courts and greens of several tennis and bowling clubs.
