Probably dating from the 17th century, The White Bear was used by coaches for London, Birmingham and Liverpool. A photograph on a nearby information board shows that it used to have a thatched roof. It is a Grade II listed building (http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-476318-the-white-bear-public-house-knutsford British Listed Buildings).
