Bus No 8522 is operated by Abellio, a subsidiary of Nederlandse Spoorwegen. The long Route 407 runs from Caterham Valley, via Croydon, to Sutton. When the route was first begun, midibuses were used, but were soon found to be unequal to the demand: now, full-sized single deckers are used, and sometimes a double decker is seen at rush hours.
