A delayed Norwich-Liverpool train held at a signal at Trent Lane, waiting for a platform at Nottingham Station. Colwick Woods and the flats on Colwick Road are in the background. The large brick abutment on the right once supported the girder bridge which carried Nottingham-Grantham trains until the closure of Nottingham Victoria Station in 1966.
