The former Great Yarmouth County Borough Council operated trams from 1903 until 1933 and buses from 1921. The blue bus depot, dating from the 1920s, on Caister Road at the top of Lawn Avenue fortunately still survives as the present day First Group Plc garage acquired in 1996.
