Countryside access legislation in Scotland gives the public wide rights of access. In an attempt to apply some order, this notice is posted at the driveway up to Rottal Lodge. It reads "Hillwalkers. You are welcome to walk on Rottal Estate. Our preferred access point for walkers (where parking is available) is half a mile further up the main road towards Clova Hotel. Thank you."
