In 1962 a chance discovery found a Roman villa under the green field in the north west corner of this roundabout. Excavation showed it to have been a spa with a bath, the biggest in Roman Britain after the one at Bath. The roundabout is the junction between the Leighton Buzzard Road (A4146) and Galley Hill / A4147 Link Road.
