Chiddingly Place

The current three buildings from left to right are; The Granary, Place farmhouse and Chapel Barn. Originally they were part of one big mansion called Chiddingly Place built by the Jefferay family in the late 16th century in the shape of an 'E'. By the end of the 18th century the mansion had fallen into decay and was partially demolished with most of the bricks being reused to build the Martello towers along the coast. The remaining part of the east wing was then converted into farm buildings and remained as such until 2000 when they were reconverted back into residences.
