The entrance to a private drive leading up to No 10 and a half, Watcombe Circus. This is not a joke because the green number plate on the left-hand brick column clearly indicates that this is the house number. The property is currently named "Enderlane". This piece of land (and much of the surrounding land too) once belonged to Mr Ichabod Wright, a 19th Century local banker and he had plans to have an Anglican Church that he wished to fund, on this hill. However, St John's Church was ultimately built on its present site because of doubts about whether the elderly members of the intended congregation would manage to reach the summit.
