According to an internet forum, "Mertyn Hall was associated with John Lloyd Price who made lace there,he was the son-in-law of Philip Dykins a local brewer.they did business with the Mostyns." Mertyn Hall is often described on the 'net as being in Whitford. However, it is physically nearer to Carmel, Holywell and Greenfield. Confusingly, there is another place called Mertyn approx 1 mile to the west.
