The church is listed Grade I http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=311315 and has its origins in the 12th century. It was restored in the mid 19th century by William Butterfield. The tower is limestone ashlar whilst the rest of the church is mostly flint with limestone dressings.
