The European School

Image: © Des Blenkinsopp Taken: 4 Jul 2008

Established in 1852 as Culham College with buildings designed by Gothic Revival architect Joseph Clarke in a style described by Pevsner as "Institutional Victorian Gothic at its Grimmest." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_School,_Culham Now it is the European School, intended for children whose parents are based at the multi-national Culham Laboratory just along the road. You will see the posh "Schola Europea" name used sometimes, presumably for political correctness, but European School is what it's known as round here as so few people in Oxfordshire speak Latin. Except in Oxford. Maybe.
