This cross stands at a roughly 60° turn in the High Street and, since this was taken at just after 4pm, looking at it now I am baffled as to how the sun seems to have been shining from the left, with its shadow being cast to the right (west). The pentagonal base is currently hosting the shadow of the buildings on the right, which also put into shade all but the upper section of the frontages across the road.
