Examine the terracotta lettering, then take a look at another image, and its perceptive observations. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2812959 Despite the establishment date of 1921, this part of the building is earlier, dating from 1894. It was originally the Higher Grade School constructed of detailed brick and terracotta designed by T.H.Fleeming. The school was further extended in 1926. It became the Municipal Grammar School in 1945, then merged with other schools to be part of a composite "Colton Hills Comprehensive" in 1974. Various amalgamations and re-namings and re-sitings led to its present use as the City of Wolverhampton College. This is a further education college formed in September 1999 as the result of a merger of Wulfrun College in Wolverhampton and Bilston Community College in Bilston. Image]
