Burton Homes is a 60-metre long row of 12 houses set back from the north side of the main road through the village. Burton Homes were funded by Colonel Henry Burton and Miss S. Burton in 1913 to provide retirement homes for women who had been in domestic service. They were built as 12 self-contained dwellings with a communal hall. Each of the 12 was individually Grade II listed in March 2000.
