Detail shown here Image The compound is next to the public footpath, outside the west boundary of the 'disused' airfield. Probably used for training purposes by Royal Artillery soldiers based at Albemarle Barracks. The M28 marking on the pods indicates that they held training rockets for the M270 Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), with three ballast containers and three smoke marking containers in place of the sub-munition payload of the M26 system http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M270_Multiple_Launch_Rocket_System
