The painted-out sign on this electricity sub-station reads: "South Wales Switchgear". The smaller signs read: "Stratton (Blue)", "Plessey 1", "Control Room", "Bus Section", and "Plessey 2" (the last sign is illegible). The building backs on to the disused Great Western Railway Highworth branch line.
